On July 29th, 2017, the Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Agreement on “Establishing Sino-European Institute for Intellectual Property at HUST” was successfully held in Warsaw, Poland. Mr. YU Shaoliang, aMember of the Standing Committee and the Director-General of the Organization Department of Hubei Provincial CCP Party Committee,was presented at the ceremony and delivered a speech. Mrs. Zhou Jianbo, the Deputy Secretary of CPCParty Committeeat HUST hosted the ceremony and conferred four Polish scholars the letters of appointment. Prof. Dr. Yu Xiang, the Director of the Chinese-German Institute for Intellectual Propertyat HUST introduced the development of the establishment of Sino-European Institute for Intellectual Property at HUST, as well as its cooperation with the European side, and signed the cooperation agreements with Polish representatives.

Mr. Yu Shaoliang emphasized the importance of the Establishment of the Sino-European Institute for Intellectual Property. He expressed that Hubei Provincial Party Committee and Government will actively support on that.

There are already constantly and steadily cooperation basics between the Chinese-German Institute of Intellectual Property and its excellent cooperation partners in Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium and other European countries since 2005. Based on that, the purpose of Establishing the Sino-European Institute for Intellectual Property at HUST is to expand and deepen the collaboration in training advanced IP talent, researching, as well as promoting technology transfer between China and European countries. The project of “Establishing the Sino-European Institute for Intellectual Property at HUST” is one of the “Double First-rate” projects of HUST, which are financial supported by the Ministry of Education of China. This project is also highly encouraged and supported by the State Intellectual Property Office of China and the Hubei Provincial Government.
