At 8:00 on March 21, the first China accounting frontier forum “HUST Cherry Accounting Forum” opened in meeting room 206. Associate Professor Zhang Liandong and assistant professor Xin Xiangang of the City University of Hong Kong,assistant professor Zhang Weining of Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, Professor Jin Luqing of Shanghai University of Finance, Professor Li Yizong of Peking University, Professor Li Qingyuan of Wuhan University and many other scholars attended the forum. Xu Xiaodong, assistant principal of HUST, Dean Wang Zongjun and Secretary of Party General Branch Jin Lingzhi attended the opening ceremony, the opening ceremony was presided by Professor Liu Qiliang of Accounting Department in our School.
Xu Xiaodong delivered an opening speech and introduced the international position of HUST. Wang Zongjun gave the welcoming remarks.
The forum included two sessions and four parts. The first part was about “Speculative Motive for Holding Cash and High-Interest Entrusted Loans” made by Professor Li Yizong of Peking University. Professor Li Qingyuan of Wuhan University discussed the paper “Flight to Quality in International Markets:Political Uncertainty and Investors’ Demand for Financial Reporting Quality”. The paper title of Professor Jin Luqing of Shanghai University of Finance was “Cash Dividends and Tunneling-Evidence from Split Share Structure Reform in China”. Liu Qiliang made a report “Does Internal Control over Financial Reporting Curb Corporate Corruption?” In the afternoon, Professor Luo Le, Xin Xiangang, Zhang Liandong and Zhang Weining respectively gave a speech.
After eight wonderful lectures, the first “Cherry Blossom Accounting Forum” successfully ended.
