Wang Liran Participated in UK A4S Summit and Was Received by Prince Charles

On December 11, 2014, a student from financial management major named Wang Liran was invited by CIMA CEO Charles Mr. Tilley to participate in the tenth anniversary celebration of British A4S Summit Forum, and was received by Prince Charles.

Founded in 2004, A4S forum is hosted by Prince Charles, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. It is dedicated to set up an internationally recognized sustainable accounting framework, which factors environmental, social and wider economic information into strategy and operations alongside financial considerations in a form with distinctness, briefness, conformity and comparability. It also offers each organization a clear and comprehensive understanding of the overall operating information to meet the demands of a more sustainable emerging global economic pattern. CIMA is one of the earliest professional accounting societies which support the establishment of this forum, and it has always played an active role in various topics and activities of this forum.
A4S summit was held in Institute of directors on December 11th. There were 350 CFOs from global Forbes 500 attended the meeting. It also invited the wining team and the British team of 2014 CIMA global business challenge to participate in this summit. The summit mainly discussed the importance and strategy for enterprise to maintain sustainable development in the next decade.
Wang Liran, as the winner of the personal Award for future business leaders, was also invited to attend the summit. According to her words, Prince Charles himself is very approachable and charming, he also shook hands and greeted Wang Liran and other invited players. Wang Liran in her self-introduction said “Your Highness, I come from China.” Prince Charles asked, “Which university are you in right now”, and Wang Liran proudly answered “HUST, an excellent university in China” said Wang Liran. Then Prince Charles encouraged them, “As the future business leaders, you should take responsibility for the next decade”.
In the previous evening of the summit, a banquet was held to offer an opportunity for the participants to make acquaintance with each other. At the banquet, Wang Liran communicated with many CFOs from SIEMENS, Fujitsu, Holland Royal DSM etc and gained a lot of benefits. She also noticed that they all have shown great interest in China and would like to cooperate with China.
