According to the People's Daily, the China (Beijing) International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality was held in Beijing from May 28 to June 1. With the support of the National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC and the Organizing Committee of CIFTIS, China Intellectual Property Society, the Sino-European Institute for Intellectual Property of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, the Peking University Intellectual Property School, EU-China Industrial and Commercial Investment Promotion Union and the China-Britain Business Council jointly held an international symposium on "Driving Forces for China-EU Innovative Development" on May 31. Witnessed by various delegates at the Fair, the "Sino-European IPR Service Platform Alliance" was officially launched. Dean of Sino-European Institute for Intellectual Property and Director of Chinese-German Institute for Intellectual Property of School of Management of Huazhong University of Science and Technology were invited to give keynote speeches.
Professor Yu Xiang delivered a speech on the theme of "Sino-European Innovation and Intellectual Property Cooperation Empower Countries along the Belt and Road To Achieve Win-win Development". During the Fair, Professor Yu Xiang gave a brief introduction of the "Belt and Road" intellectual property cooperation, analyzed the patent application situation of countries along the Belt and Road in China, the disclosure situation of China's patent application in other countries along the Belt and Road, and the trade situation between China and the countries along the Belt and Road, introduced Sino-European intellectual property trade and project cooperation as well as relevant cases, put forward development ideas and cooperation proposals for Sino-European joint technical innovation cooperation project and Sino-European intellectual property joint training, and emphasized to promote win-win cooperation between China and EU market bodies through platform cooperation mechanism.
The following persons delivered speeches respectively: Ms. Cao Hongying, Deputy Director of the Intellectual Property Protection Department in National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC; Ms. Liang Dan, President of EU-China Industrial and Commercial Investment Promotion Union, and Senior Advisor of South-South Cooperation Office in United Nations Industrial Development Organization; Professor Yu Xiang; and Mr. Ma Junze, Minister Counsellor of Delegation of the European Union to China. At the Fair, the Sino-European IPR Service Platform Alliance launched the activity of signing on scroll. Subsequently, the following persons had a dialog on a number of topics: Mads Vesterager Nielsen, General Manager of the Danish Chamber of Commerce in China; Xie Xiaoyong, Vice President of the China Intellectual Property Society; Dalibor Jenne, diplomat of Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing; Mattias Debroyer, Economic and Commercial Consul of the Consulate General of Belgian in Shanghai; and Zhang Kun, Executive Director of EU-China Industrial and Commercial Investment Promotion Union.
It is reported that the CIFTIS has been held since 2012 for five times. CIFTIS has three permanent supporting institutions, namely, the World Trade Organization, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. At this International symposium on "Driving Forces for China-EU Innovative Development", apart from our teachers and students, more than 120 guests attended this activity, including Delegation of the European Union to China, representatives of the British, French, Belgian, Danish, Swedish, Czech and Hungarian Embassy and Consulates in China and Trade Associations, as well as representatives from the National Intellectual Property Administration, PRC, Beijing Municipal Intellectual Property Office, Peking University, China Foreign Affairs University, Beijing International Studies University and representatives of industrial organizations, such as intelligent manufacturing, energy conservation and environmental protection, health care, culture and education.
