Relevant units of the whole University:
In accordance with the provisions of the Implementation Measures for "Huazhong Excellent Scholars Program" of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (XF [2019] No. 18), the University will carry out the recommendation work for the candidates of "Huazhong Excellent Scholars Program" in 2019. The related matters are hereby notified as follows.
I. Application requirements
1. Candidates shall meet the post responsibilities and application requirements specified in the Implementation Measures for "Huazhong Excellent Scholars Program" of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (XF [2019] No. 18).
2. Candidates applying for "Huazhong Excellent Scholars" in 2019 shall come to work full-time before December 31, 2018, and the candidates for Chenxing post shall not be more than 45 years old (born after January 1, 1973).
II. Recommendation and employment procedures
1. Individual application. Candidates who meet the requirements for post application shall fill in the Application Form for Candidates for "Huazhong Excellent Scholars" of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and submit relevant materials as required to the unit where they work for examination and approval.
2. Department and School recommendation. Candidates' materials shall be submitted to the academic committee of the unit where they work for review, and to the Talent Work Office of the University after the approval of the Joint Committee of the Party and Government. In the process of recommendation, the unit should assess the candidates' ideological and political quality, professional ethics and the situation of education and teaching, and adopt the "one-vote veto" system.
3. University selection. The University shall submit the candidates' materials to the review committee for academic evaluation and put forward evaluation opinions according to the employment requirements of various posts.
4. Publicity. The list of persons to be employed shall be publicized by the University for 7 days.
5. University employment. The University decides on the employment of candidates who have passed the academic evaluation through voting.
6. Sign the employment contract of "Huazhong Excellent Scholars", and the University will announce the results of the employment of "Huazhong Excellent Scholars Program" in 2019 according to the contract signing.
III. Material submission
1. Individuals log on to the Human Resource Office's homepage (http://hr.hust.edu.cn/) "Talent Application and Evaluation System", fill in the Application Form for Candidates for "Huazhong Excellent Scholars" of Huazhong University of Science and Technology online, upload the relevant materials in the Annex, and submit them to the unit where they work for review.
Materials in the Annex include
(1) Course schedule for the past five years (signature and seal of teaching authority in each Department and School) and other certification materials reflecting teaching achievements;
(2) Copies of the full text of the five important innovative papers, as well as copies of the covers, catalogues and the papers' front pages of other representative works listed in the application form;
(3) Certificates of papers quotation and other citations, H index retrieval listed in the application form;
(4) Copies of the certificates of the important scientific research projects listed in the application form;
(5) Copies of the certificates of award and patent listed in the application form;
(6) Certification materials of candidates' holding part-time positions in international academic organizations, holding important positions at international academic conferences and delivering conference and guest reports at international academic conferences.
2. The Department and School shall submit a recommendation report detailing the procedures of candidate recommendation and the process of check and evaluation, fill in the Recommendation Summary of Candidates for "Huazhong Excellent Scholars" of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and send it to the Talent Work Office of the University together with the relevant materials of the candidates after being signed by the person in charge of the Party and Government Office and affixed with the official seal.
3. All materials shall be submitted to the University before October 25, 2019, and shall not be accepted after the deadline.
IV. Relevant descriptions
1. The statistical deadline of all achievements of "Huazhong Excellent Scholars" in this year is December 31, 2018, and the calculation date of "nearly five years" is from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2018. Papers are subject to the officially published time in the journal, and project implementation period refers to the approval document.
2. If an excellent doctor or postdoctoral candidate from a world-class University or a first-class discipline applies for Chenxing post, he/she shall come to work full-time for not more than 3 years (after January 1, 2016). The candidate for Chenxing post I shall hold a doctorate from the top 50 universities in the world or engage in postdoctoral research in the top 50 universities in the world; Chenxing post II candidates should graduate with a Ph.D. from one of the top 100 universities in the world, or engage in postdoctoral research at one of the top 100 universities in the world.
3. In this year's "Huazhong Excellent Scholars" candidate recommendation work, the applicant may select different levels of posts according to his/her own actual situation, and can only participate in the evaluation of the applying posts.
