Notice on the Employment of Vacant Professional and Technical Posts (Including Workers Technicians) and Grade 13 Post in the Whole University in 2019

Units of the School:

In accordance with the spirit of relevant documents concerning the employment system and post establishment of the University, the School intends to carry out the employment of vacant professional and technical posts and Grade 13 post in 2019. The relevant work is hereby notified as follows: 

I.    The Object of The Employment

Apply for the employment of higher post.

II.  Employment Schedule

1.   Complete the notification and appraisal of the application of senior title and exceptive vice-senior personnel by October 15, 2019.

2.   Submit to the University by October 15, 2019 the checking materials for the personnel to be applied for the vacant posts of the School in the current year.

3.   Submit the application materials by October 18, 2019 (including self-evaluation report of personal professional ethics and description of personal social service work).

4.   Prior to November 8, 2019, the Party and Government Office of the School conducts a preliminary examination of the materials of the applicants.

5.   On November 12, 2019, the professional and technical personnel applying for vice-senior title and above report to the School Teaching Quality Evaluation Committee their personal teaching work, professional ethics, and the actual effect of teaching. Each person will be given 8 minutes for reporting and 2 minutes for answering questions. Participants in the meeting recognize the applicant's teaching evaluation.

6.   On November 12, 2019, the Academic Committee will hold a meeting to confirm the problems related to the application for teaching posts.

7.  On November 13 to 19, 2019 (during workday) application materials display (location: Room 420, School).

8.   On November 20, 2019, the members of the teacher employment group will examine the application materials of the applicant, discuss the application qualifications of the applicant, and confirm the application qualifications of the applicant.

9.   On the morning of November 26, 2019, professional and technical personnel applying for vice-senior title and above will report work to the meeting of the Professors' Committee. The main contents are as follows: works and achievements in teaching, scientific research, professional ethics, social services and public welfare activities since been working on teaching. 15 minutes report using PPT and 5 minutes for asking questions by participating professors. Voting will be conducted at the meeting, and the result of voting serves as an important reference for academic evaluation and employment of the School.

10.  On the afternoon of November 26, 2019, the Academic Committee will conduct academic evaluation.

11.  The results of the academic deliberations of the School will be made public from November 27 to 28, 2019 (location: Room 420, School), and on November 28, 2019, teacher employment group will accept appeals.

12.  On November 29, 2019, the teacher employment group decide the personnel to be appointed according to the results of academic evaluation and publish the appointment in the School (location: Room 420, School).

13.  On November 30, 2019, the School submitted the application materials for the proposed personnel to the School Employment Office.

14.  Before December 31, 2019, the School Employment Office will conduct material review, and accept appeals (the specific time and location shall be subject to the formal notice of the University).


III.       Submission Requirements

(I)   Employment materials for vacant posts of professional and technical posts

1.   Full-time teachers

(1)  Applicants for senior posts (professors, researchers, associate professors and associate researchers) of teacher series shall submit the following materials:

 Application Form for Teachers of Huazhong University of Science and Technology;

 Course schedule (signature and seal of teaching authority in each Department and School), cover of published papers and periodicals, copy of original text, retrieval report of papers included in SCI/SSCI/CSSCI, acceptance of project approval or approved assignment, certificate of receipt of funds (special form printed by the Scientific Secretary of each department and school in "Scientific Research Management System" of SFDI), copy of award-winning certificate, etc.;

 Copies of diploma (degree) certificate, teacher qualification certificate and other relevant certificates.

(2)  Applicants for intermediate posts of teacher series shall submit the following materials:

 Application Form for Teachers of Huazhong University of Science and Technology;

 Copies of diploma (degree) certificate, teacher qualification certificate and other relevant certificates.


2.   Other professional technicians

(1)  Applicants for senior posts shall submit the following materials:

①  1 Application Form of Professional Technical Post of Huazhong University of Science and Technology;

②  Statistical Table of Business Achievements for the corresponding application series of posts (signed and sealed by the department and school);

③  Course schedule (signature and seal of teaching authority in each Department and School), copy of the paper published (the original shall be provided when reviewing the materials), original of the papers, retrieval report of papers included in SCI/SSCI/CSSCI, acceptance of project approval or approved assignment, certificate of receipt of funds (special form printed by the Scientific Secretary of each department and school in "Scientific Research Management System" of SFDI), copy of award-winning certificate, etc.;

④  Copy of diploma (degree) certificate, etc.

(2) Applicants for intermediate or lower posts shall submit the following materials:

①  Application Form of Professional Technical Post of Huazhong University of Science and Technology;

②  Copy of diploma (degree) certificate, etc.

3. Workers technician

Applicants for senior technicians and technician posts shall submit the following materials:

(1) Application Form for Workers Technician Post of Huazhong University of Science and Technology;

(2) Statistical Table of Business Achievements for the Application of Technician Post (signed and sealed by the department and school);

(3) Copy of diploma (degree) certificate, technician qualification certificate and other relevant materials reflecting business achievements.


(II) Employment materials for vacant posts of Grade 13

1. Applicants for Grade 2 and 3 posts shall provide the following materials:

(1) Application Form of Professional Technical Post of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (for applying for the Grade 2 and 3 posts);

(2) Statistical Table of Achievements of the Applicants for the Professional and Technical Grade 2 and 3 Posts;

(3) Corresponding attached proof material.

2. Applicants for posts below Grade 4 shall provide the Application Form of Professional Technical Post of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (for applying for posts below Grade 4)


IV. Relevant Descriptions:

(I) In accordance with the relevant provisions of the Rules for the Implementation of the Appointment of Teachers in Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the relevant requirements of the notice of the University on the employment of teachers in vacant posts in 2019, the overall evaluation requirements of teaching work shall be subject to the seal of the Academic Affairs Office.

(II) The ideological and political performance of teachers applying for professional titles is checked by the Party Committee and grass-roots Party branches of the School, and the evaluation of professional ethics and effect of teaching is undertaken by the Teaching Quality Evaluation Committee of the School of Management.

The Party branch where the applicant is located shall examine and verify the ideological and political situation of the applicant, and the Party Committee of the School shall check on it; individual teachers who apply for professional titles shall submit a self-evaluation report on their professional ethics, and explain the performance in individual professional ethics and the effect of teaching in detail when they report to the Teaching Quality Evaluation Committee. In terms of ideological and political, professional ethics, education effectiveness and other aspects of performance, implement "one-vote veto" if there are "problems".

(III) On the question of whether the applicants who go abroad sponsored by the government for further study, visit or study for more than one year in their first three years of employment term or with the approval of the university need to win the teaching contest, the Academic Committee of the School of Management shall, upon study and decision, decide: there is no requirement for teachers of this type.

(IV) Give prominence to teaching achievements, and strictly evaluate education and teaching. It shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant provisions of Rules for the Implementation of the Appointment of Teachers in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (XR 2012No. 24), and Several Opinions of Huazhong University of Science and Technology on Further Improving the Guidance of Teacher Assessment and Evaluation (XR 2017 No. 8) and the Interim Measures on the Overall Evaluation of Teaching Work of Teachers With Title Promotion (issued by the Academic Affairs Office). Implement the overall evaluation requirements of teaching work, which shall subject to the seal of the Academic Affairs Office.

(V)  With regard to the foreign language proficiency requirements of the applicants, the Academic Committee of the School of Management has decided: applicants are not required to provide certificate of passing foreign language test.

(VI)  The application conditions for the Grade 3 post of professors shall be implemented in accordance with the Interim Measures for the Employment of Grade 13 Post of Professional Technology of the School of Management (YF [2019] No.3).

(VII)     "High-level CSSCI Papers on Teaching and Research" include papers on teaching and research included in SCI, SSCI and EI. The Academic Committee of the School decided on the meeting: papers that won "National 100 Excellent Cases of MBA", are selected from the Case Bank of China Management Case-sharing Center, Tsinghua SEM teaching case, Harvard Business School and Richard Ivey School of Business and included in the National Accounting Degree Teaching Case Bank set up by China Case Center for Professional Degrees Education belong to "High-level CSSCI Papers on Teaching and Research" In addition to the above paper, the paper should be further identified by the School and University.

(VIII)    According to the spirit of Conference on National University Ideological and Political Work and the relevant requirements that young teachers should have at least one year's experience as instructors or class teachers to be promoted to a higher professional and technical post (title) in the Opinions of Huazhong University of Science and Technology on Further Improving the Guidance of Teacher Assessment and Evaluation, young teachers aged 45 and below who apply for senior professional and technical posts shall have one year's working experience as instructors or class teachers and pass the examination, which shall be implemented from this year onwards.

(IX)       The basic requirements for scientific research experimenters in the experimental technology series to apply for the academic level of senior posts in the experimental technology series can be implemented according to the relevant application conditions for the corresponding senior posts in the scientific research type of science and technology and medical management of On Printing and Distributing the Rules for the Implementation of the Appointment of Teachers in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (XR 2012No. 24).

(X)        Statistics on term of office, academic achievements, age, etc. shall expire on October 31, 2019.

(XI)       According to the requirements of the University that "the number of people with soft conditions in people applying for Grade 2 and 3 posts shall not exceed 10% of the number of applicants in the current year".
